These caves are from the 16th century and are locally known as Pandava caves. They were long thought to be Buddhist in origin, with the lingas installed in the four shrines following the decline of Buddhism, but this is not entirely certain, and they could have been Brahminical from the start.

The caves are excavated into the laterite hill. They consist of two major caves and a residential chamber.
