Chapora fort
The Chapora Fort was built in 1612; it was besieged twice by Shivaji’s son, Sambaji, in 1683 and Bhounsule in 1739; and occupied by the Portuguese in 1741. One gets a beautiful view of Vagator Beach, Ozran Beach, Morjim Beach, and Anjuna Beach from the Chapora Fort.
Chapora is at a distance of approximately 34 kilometers from Panjim.
