
The Chapora Fort was built in 1612, it was besieged twice by Shivaji's son, Sambaji, in 1683 and Bhounsule in 1739, and occupied by the Portuguese in 1741. One get a beautiful view of the Vagator beach, Ozran Beach and Anjuna Beach from the Chapora Fort.
Chapora is at a distance of approximately 34 kilometers from Panjim.
